Our Philosophy

LIFEBOAT SERVICES curriculums are designed to meet the needs of today's youth and families. We offer flexible schedules and a wide range of programs to choose from. Our dedicated team of educators is committed to supporting youth every step of the way.

LIFEBOAT SERVICES utilizes the Re-Ed philosophy developed by Nicholas Hobbs, created for the re-education of emotionally disturbed children. 

Rather than using traditional therapy, “teachable moments” address the child's full environment (family, school, neighborhood). The spontaneity within the Teachable Moments is an unexpected encounter that occurs when an unplanned event or situation develops.  

Teachable moments maximize the learning process more effectively than traditional learning because teachable moments can turn what most would consider weaknesses into strengths. 

Teachable Moments enhances their learning by expanding their perceptions. 

Teachable moments occur ubiquitously. 

Teachable Moments requires the spontaneity and creativity of the educator. 

Teachable Moments enhance the developmental skills not only of school-aged children and youth but also of individuals regardless of their age or status.
