THE ELITE FLEET ACADEMY

The “ELITE FLEET” Academy is an after-school program that focuses on addressing and enhancing students' esteem through using hard copy books and articles to teach. This program will include providing students with books and classroom reading activities. 

Dictionaries will be provided, and access to computers will be limited, except for pure research and adult monitoring.

The students will receive an evaluation not based on pass/fail but to monitor their reading progress. This will include writing assignments designed to improve grammar and reading comprehension. 

Also included are activities that include some aspects of a S.T.E.M. approach to learning. 

The following are examples of the activities that participants of The Elite Fleet Academy will engage in. 

• Understanding Aerodynamics (Rocketry, Airplane building, etc.)
• Home Economics (to incorporate healthy eating and nutrition-based meals)
• Teamwork through Sports
• Understanding Rhythm through Music
• Understanding Fundamental Elements of Coding 
• Development of Self through History
